‘Ballyhoo Arts’ was founded in Summer 2002 by Kathy Young and Jane McGibbon. Originally based only in Hampshire, 'Ballyhoo Arts' has expanded and now includes a Monmouthshire based team. Our key word is BIG and our aim is to provide arts projects that incorporate large structures of all sorts, especially giants. We will work with schools and community groups to build the structures and, where possible, incorporate them into a performance or procession.

Kathy Young has over 15 years experience as a professional arts worker and is well respected as a director of community based theatre, a workshop leader and a project manager. A long term commitment to cross artform work, maskmaking and maskusing has developed over the years to an interest in outdoor theatre projects and GIANTS. Kathy leads the Monmouthshire based team.

Jane McGibbon is a propsmaker, who has worked with community groups to produce large scale structures. These include giant puppets for Creative BOO! 2 and a light sculpture for Bishops Waltham Festival. She has recently made the change to professional theatre work, from a successful teaching career in schools and colleges. Jane leads the Hampshire based team.
